Travel Across The Continents Empty Travel Across The Continents

Imagine if you can a world without food, a bit far fetched maybe but thinking more on the lines of intercontinental sharing of all available resources, without geopolitical restrictions or import/export boycotts so frequently used as a weapon of war.  Some may still be able to remember those not so good old days when provisions were limited to such as boiled beef and carrots, not such a bad thing I hear you say to which I agree wholeheartedly but how much better that would taste interspersed with delicacies from across the world.

Have not the majority now experienced the delights of Middle Eastern, Asian, African, South American, Far Eastern cuisine?  The history is a fascinating adventure worthy of exploration - how did those spices travel from Asia and the Far East to land on the shores of old Blighty?  Where did that dependable coffee bean originate and how did it become a must have in every home, well almost.

Okay so the Indian or Chinese or Thai or steakhouse on the local high street might not be 100% authentic but who could imagine living without - a culinary necessity to accompany Friday nights fish and chips?  Do we now take these things so much for granted we forget or don't particularly care about their origins?

Well, as it is all part of the gigantic machine that is running silently behind the scenes every day and every night to give us new experiences in culinary prowess and delectation should we complain or wish to insulate ourselves away from dirty foreigners?
